Integrated Navigation & Situational Awareness (INSA)
The INSA 2004 Program is an Electronic Chart System designed for use with C-MAP's latest CM-93 Edition 3 (CM-93/3 Electronic Chart databases). The system is designed to take full advantage of the functionality that only digital Vector Charts can offer and is fully compliant with the latest IHO S57/3 and S-52 specifications. The system has also been designed and tested based on IEC 61174 (ECDIS operational and performance requirements).
INSA 2004 introduces the C-MAP Electronic Chart Distribution service, which allows automatic updating and licensing of C-MAP's worldwide chart database via internet or Remote Access Services (RAS).

Requirements
|
INSA 2004 is a 32 bit PC based Windows application and will run on almost any IBM compatible PC with an Intel Pentium MMX/II/IIITM processor and 32MB RAM.
The system must also contain a 1.44 MB-diskette station and a CD-ROM drive. Because the system can read data directly from the CD-ROM, only 2MB of free hard disk space is required, however it is recommended that the CM-93/3 data be copied to the hard disk in which case approximately 550MB will be required.
The screen resolution should ideally be set to a minimum of 1280 x 1024 using the 16 bit-color palette.
The system should have at least four RS232 serial ports for input/output to accommodate DGPS, magnetic compass, autopilot, etc.
Any standard Windows compatible printer can be used for printouts.
In order to install and run the INSA 2004 software, Windows 95 (OSR version), Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 4 or higher) is required.
The system must also have Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.2 or higher.

Capabilities
|
|
Real Time Updating (RTU) provides the capability of updating the chart database via Internet or e-mail.
The C-Star Weather Routing System has been designed to meet the demands of today's marine transport and is compiled and constantly updated through the C-MAP Norway weather server for up to 10 days in advance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
INSA allows easy integration with navigation instruments such as radar, autopilot, compasses and a variety of other sensors.
INSA 2004 uses the International Maritime Organizations (IMO) approved CM-93-3 electronic charts produced by C-Map.
INSA 2004 provides route planning and monitoring and records all relevant voyage information with position, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), Course To Steer (CTS), Time To Go (TTG) and Cross Track Distance (XTD) display.
